Morning Report: 07.45 London

  • This morning, markets are relatively quiet after a volatile session for some markets yesterday. The dollar index is unchanged so far after fighting off the lows yesterday. The euro is also unchanged after cutting back from the highs yesterday.
  • The New Zealand dollar has a positive bias after a strong session yesterday that saw it out perform most dollar pairs and its close cousin the Australian dollar.
  • Meanwhile, gold is pulling back after gold bugs pushed the precious metal back up towards the August highs.
Coming up today: 
  • Coming up today we have German Buba president Weidman speaking at 08.00. This is followed by M3 money supply at 09.00.
  • The big ticket is US final GDP, released at 13.30. revised UoM consumer sentiment follows at 15.00.
Trade Idea: 
  • Gold spluttered to life yesterday, but opposing short term spikes like this has been a useful strategy in recent months.
