Spain’s producer prices declined further in August, data from the statistical office INE showed Friday.

Producer prices decreased 2.2 percent year-on-year in August, faster than the 1.3 percent fall in the previous month and also the biggest decline since last January. Prices have been falling since July 2014.

Excluding energy, producer prices rose 0.6 percent annually, the same rate of increase as seen in July. This was the sixth consecutive rise in core prices.

Month-on-month, producer prices declined 1.7 percent in August following a 0.1 percent rise in July. This was the first fall in seven months.
