Switzerland’s leading indicator reached its lowest level since April, signaling dim outlook to the economy, survey results from the KOF Swiss Economic Institute showed Monday.

The KOF economic barometer fell to 97.9 in November from a revised value of 100.4 in October. This was the lowest reading since April when the score was 90.4.

The decline in November was predominantly driven by a marked deterioration of sentiment reflected by the indicators on Swiss manufacturing activity. Indicators related to exports also weakened.

The institute said the manufacturing sector is still struggling with the franc appreciation shock.
