Turkey’s foreign trade deficit narrowed less-than-expected in February, as imports fell faster than exports, preliminary figures from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed Tuesday.

The trade deficit decreased to $4.66 billion in February from $5.19 billion in the same month of the previous year. Economists had expected the deficit to fall to $4.32 billion.

Exports fell 6.0 percent annually in February and imports declined by 7.2 percent.

Seasonally and calender adjuster exports and imports increased by 0.7 percent compared with previous month.
