U.K. gross fixed capital formation reached its highest level since 2007 in the fourth quarter, the Office for National Statistics showed Friday.

Gross fixed capital formation increased GBP 1 billion or 1.3 percent to GBP 77.3 billion in the third quarter, the highest since the fourth quarter of 2007.

Business investment, a component of GFCF, increased by GBP 0.9 billion or 2.2 percent compared with the previous quarter.

On a yearly basis, GFCF advanced 3.4 percent and business investment climbed 6.6 percent in the third quarter.
