1964 Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti To Auction
$BID
As part of The Pinnacle Portfolio being sold by RM Sotheby’s (NYSE:BID) at the company’s Monterey auctions from 13-15 August, a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti will go across the block and under the hammer.
Rarer than the Ferrari 250 GTO but not as storied, there certainly a possibility that this 250 LM by Scaglietti could fetch the highest price in The Pinnacle Portfolio. RM Sotheby’s sold one at last year’s Monterey auctions for $11.55-M, that car was race damaged and rebuilt to exacting standards.
The classic Ferrari sports racing car is one of just 32 made, and was shown 1st to the world at the 1964 Earls Court Motor Show. And recently competed in the Le Mans Classic and Tour Auto and features matching chassis and engine numbers meaning it is all original.
Full details about this example have not yet bee released.
As with all Ferrari 250 LM by Scaglietti this latest car features a 3.3-litre V12 engine delivering 320 hp, with 6 Weber carburetors as well as a 5-speed manual transmission and independent front and rear suspension. Disc brakes are at all four corners.
