Private payrolls data from ADP
– Lowest reading since April
– Prior was 177K (revised to 175K)
– Two months ago was 194K
A touch on the soft side and that might trim expectations for non-farm payrolls on Friday. It’s still well-within the range where the Fed is pleased with employment growth but it takes away some of the urgency to hike.
