The construction sector in Australia continued to expand in October and at an accelerated pace, the latest survey from the Australian Industry Group showed on Friday with a Performance of Construction Index score of 52.1.
That’s up from 51.9 in September, and it moves farther above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Among the individual components, new orders for apartment, engineering and commercial construction expanded in October, while there was a sharp decline in house-building.
