Job advertisements in Australia increased for the second consecutive month in June, latest survey from the Australian and New Zealand Banking Group revealed Monday.

Total job ads rose a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent month-over-month in June, but slower than the 2.2 percent climb in the previous month.

Internet job ads went up 0.6 percent over the month, following a 2.4 percent spike in May. At the same time, newspaper ads fell at a slower pace of 5.3 percent in June after a 10.1 percent plunge a month ago.

On a yearly basis, job ads climbed 8.0 percent from May, when it grew 9.1 percent.

“The strength in labour demand over the past two months is consistent with robust business conditions and solid momentum in the domestic economy. This should support a healthy pace of employment growth in the near term,” Felicity Emmett, head of Australian Economics, said.
