Inflation expectations in Australia rose notably in June, survey data from the Melbourne Institute showed Monday.
The monthly inflation gauge climbed 0.6 percent in June, following a 0.2 percent fall in May.
In the twelve months to June, the inflation gauge increased 1.5 percent in June, faster than the 1.0 percent spike for the twelve months to May.
Contributing to the overall change in June were price rises for automotive fuel, holiday travel and accommodation and fruit and vegetables. These were primarily offset by decreases in clothing and footwear, and insurance and financial services
