The Australian dollar recovered from its recent lows against the other major currencies on Thursday.

The Australian dollar rose to an 8-day high of 0.9636 against the Canadian dollar, from an early 2-day low of 0.9554.

Moving away from an early 3-day low of 1.4288 against the euro and a 2-day low of 94.67 against the yen, the aussie advanced to 1.4174 and 95.63, respectively.

Against the U.S. dollar, the aussie edged up to 0.8003 from an early low of 0.7924.

If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 0.97 against the loonie, 1.38 against the euro, 97.00 against the yen and 0.82 against the greenback.
