Austria’s consumer price inflation held steady in October, figures from Statistics Austria showed Monday.
The consumer price index rose 0.7 percent year-over-year in October, the same rate of increase as in the previous month.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went up 0.5 percent annually in October and utility costs grew by 0.8 percent. At the same time, transport costs declined 4.0 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.1 percent in October.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, increased at a slightly faster pace of 0.7 percent yearly in October, following 0.6 percent rise in September. Month-on-month, the harmonized index of consumer prices decreased 0.4 percent.
