The US economy continued to expand in most Fed’s districts according to the Beige Book. Economic activity was reported as expanding moderately, modestly or slightly in most Fed districts, but others were described as mixed or flat.
Consumer spending increased across most locales, but manufacturing activity was seen mostly flat.
Labor market conditions continued to improve, according to the report, with the majority of Districts reporting modest gains. Wage growth varied considerably, from flat to strong, across all districts, while most regions reported that consumer prices held steady.
Beige Book was prepared at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and based on information collected on or before February 22, 2016. It will be used for assessment in the FOMC March 15-16 meeting.
