Box Office: Superheros Rule Worldwide

Director Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice pasted the $500-M mark at the global box office Tuesday, few films have ever accomplished the feat in less than a week in release.
The Superhero film teamed Batman and Superman on the Silver screen for the 1st time, and has grossed $193.3-M in North America in just 5 days. Overseas, it has taken $308.6-M for a global box office total of $501.9-M.
The tentpole began rolling out in select international markets last Wednesday, and by Friday, it was playing in every corner of the globe, including China.
Today, the film will cross the $200-M mark domestically after scoring the biggest Monday and Tuesday ever for March.
The film debuted to 422.5-M over Easter weekend, the # 1 Superhero launch of all time at the worldwide box office. In North America, the film opened to $166.1-M, breaking several records.
