Dr Sarah Wollaston, an influential conservative MP revealed that she no longer wants Britain to leave the European Union and she will be casting her vote in favor of staying in the union. In an interview with BBC, when she was asked about the reasons for her decision, Sarah said that she is no longer comfortable with the idea.
She also said that Brexiteers’ claim that an exit will unlock up to £350 million a week for National Health Scheme (NHS) is simply not true.
“For someone like me who has long campaigned for open and honest data in public life I could not have set foot on a battle bus that has at the heart of its campaign a figure that I know to be untrue,” she said. Instead, there could be an exit penalty for NHS. After the Brexit, there would be an economic shock and what influences NHS most is background economy. Hence, there could be a Brexit penalty according to her.
She added that she thought about how she might feel on June 24th if Britain leaves EU and it would be a sense of loss.
Her change of sides will be a boost for the “In” camp, and for Prime Minister David Cameron.
