Bulgaria’s current account deficit increased in November from a year ago, preliminary figures from the Bulgarian National Bank showed Monday.
The current account deficit widened notably to EUR 289.7 million in November from EUR 85.6 million in the corresponding month last year.
The deficit on goods trade rose to EUR 267.2 million in November from EUR 152.1 million a year earlier. At the same time, the services trade surplus shrank to EUR 34.7 million from EUR 59.0 million.
The capital account surplus for November was EUR 156.4 million, down from EUR 301.2 million in the same month last year. Meanwhile, the financial account balance turned to a surplus of EUR 87.0 million form a deficit of EUR 61.7 million.
