Bulgaria’s money supply growth slowed at the end of the year, after accelerating sharply in the previous month, figures from the Bulgarian National Bank showed Tuesday.

M3, the broad measure of money supply, climbed at a slower pace of 8.8 percent annually in December, following a 11.2 percent hike in November.

At the same time, the annual growth in the narrow measure, M1, quickened to 15.6 percent in December from 12.0 percent in the preceding month.

Data also showed that foreign assets grew 16.2 percent annually to BGN 40.67 billion in December, following a 21.6 percent surge in the prior month.
