Bulgaria’s consumer prices declined at the fastest pace in four months in February, figures from the National Institute of Statistics showed Monday.
Consumer prices dropped 0.5 percent in February from prior year, after staying flat in January. This was the biggest fall in four months.
Cost of transport decreased 5.5 percent annually and food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2 percent. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear prices climbed 1.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices slid 0.3 percent, which was the first drop in three months. Prices had remained flat in January and December.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, dropped 0.5 percent in February from January and slid 1 percent from same period last year.
