– Prior was +40.6K
– Full time -2.4K
– Prior full time +35.3K
– Part time employment +0.4K
– Prior part time +5.3K
– Unemployment rate 7.1% vs 7.2% exp
The April report follows an extremely strong reading in March. Given that and all the bearishness about the Canadian economy, this was a pretty good report. The Canadian dollar is higher but it’s impossible to get a clear reading because of all the gyrations.
