The Canadian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the early European session on Monday.

The Canadian dollar rose to 1.3913 against the U.S. dollar, 87.27 against the yen and 0.9972 against the Australian dollar, from early lows of 1.3962, 86.74 and 1.0006, respectively.

Against the euro, the loonie edged up to 1.5104 from an early 1-week low of 1.5184.

If the loonie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.36 against the greenback, 89.00 against the yen, 0.98 against the aussie and 1.49 against the euro.
