China’s non-financial outbound direct investment in August increased from the previous year, the commerce ministry reported on Wednesday.

ODI outflows climbed 7.0 percent year-over-year to $13.5 billion in August, the ministry said.

During the first eight months of the year, total non-financial overseas direct investments grew 18.2 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.

Last week, the ministry said that country’s foreign direct investment, or FDI, increased 9.2 percent annually in August to $85.3 billion.
