Foreign direct investment in China increased at a faster than expected pace in April, the Ministry of Commerce reported Friday.
FDI increased 10.5 percent in April from last year to $9.6 billion. Economists had forecast the growth rate to slow to 2 percent from 2.2 percent reported in March.
During January to April, investment surged 36.1 percent from the corresponding period of last year to $34.97 billion.
