Croatia’s producer prices decreased at a faster rate in April, as prices of manufacturing, and mining and quarrying fell, preliminary data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics showed Friday.

The total producer price index fell 3.1 percent year-on-year following a 2.6 percent decrease in the preceding month. The measure has been falling since May 2013.

Producer prices, excluding energy, declined 0.2 percent annually in April.

Domestic market prices fell 3.2 percent after a 2.7 percent drop in the previous month. Prices on the non-domestic market declined 3 percent after a 2.5 percent slump in March.

Prices declined 3.5 percent in manufacturing and 3.7 percent in mining and quarrying. However, prices rose 7.2 percent in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.

Prices in the energy sector dropped 10.1 percent and those in non-durable consumer goods production declined 0.9 percent. Capital goods production prices decreased 0.3 percent, while prices in the manufacture of intermediate goods rose 0.6 percent. Prices remained stable in production of durable consumer goods.

Month-on-month, the PPI declined 0.6 percent after a 1.2 percent increase in the previous month. It was the first decrease in three months.
