Crude oil prices were flat Thursday morning after falling sharply in the previous session.
Prices settled below $50 for the first time in three months Wednesday.
Crude oil for September was unchanged at $49.19 a barrel, near a yearly low of $49.04.
U.S. crude oil stocks rose 2.5 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its weekly report. Rising imports meant analysts were wrong in predicting a drawdown in stockpiles.
