Czech economic sentiment strengthened at the start of the year to the highest level in six-and-a-half-years, survey results from the Czech Statistical Office showed Monday.
The economic confidence index climbed to 13.8 in January from 11.7 in the previous month. In November, the reading was 11.1.
The latest score was the strongest since June 2008, when it marked 14.1.
The business confidence indicator improved further to 15.3 in January from 13.3 in December.
The consumer confidence index rose notably to 7.5 in January from 5.0 in the prior month. The survey showed that consumers were less afraid of a decrease in the overall economic situation for the next twelve months.
The confidence indicator for industry, construction, trade and services also strengthened during the month.
