Czech industrial producer prices declined at a faster pace in September, figures from the Czech Statistical Office showed Friday.

The producer price index fell 4.2 percent annually following 3.7 percent drop in the previous month. Economists had expected prices to decline 3.8 percent.

On a month-on-month basis, producer prices slid 0.7 percent in September.

Separately, the statistical agency announced that producer prices decreased 1.2 percent sequentially in the third quarter after a 1 percent rise in the previous three months.

Year-on-year, producer prices fell 3.6 percent in the third quarter after a 2.3 percent drop in the previous three months.

Import prices dropped percent monthly in August following a 0.8 percent slump in July. Annually, import prices decreased 2.9 percent after a 1.2 percent decline in the previous month.
