Denmark’s consumer confidence declined to a 19-month low in September, survey data from Statistics Denmark revealed Tuesday.

The consumer confidence index dropped to 5 in September from 9.2 in August. A similar reading was last seen in March 2014 and the lowest since February 2014, when the score was 4.2 points.

The indicator dropped for the sixth straight month in September. The reading was also below the average for the past six months.

Households’ view on the country’s general economic situation for the next twelve months plunged to 5.6 from 14.6 a month ago. Assessment of current general economic situation compared to a year ago period also weakened, with the index easing to 12.2 from 15.2.

Households’ assessment of their own financial situation over coming year declined as the index slid to 10.7 from 14.3. The index measuring consumers view of their current economic situation compared to a year ago fell to 3.1 from 6.8.

Consumers still expect unemployment to fall in a year. The index came in at -8.5 in September.
