Denmark’s consumer price inflation slowed in April, data from the Statistics Denmark showed Monday.

The consumer price index increased 0.5 percent year-on-year, slower than the previous month’s 0.6 percent rise.

However, the consumer price index excluding energy and non-process foods, which is widely used as underlying inflation, climbed 1.2 percent annually. It was the highest core inflation level seen over the past year, the agency said.

Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages and health increased 1.4 percent each in April, and clothing and footwear prices rose 0.3 percent. Education prices grew 2.8 percent and transportation charges moved up 0.2 percent.
