Denmark’s industrial production increased in August after falling in the previous month, figures from Statistics Denmark showed Wednesday.
Industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 2.7 percent month-over-month in August, reversing a 2.9 percent decrease in July, which was revised from a 3.7 percent fall reported earlier. In June, production had risen 3.7 percent.
Production in the pharmaceutical industry surged 11.7 percent monthly in August and that for mechanical engineering industry grew by 8.5 percent. At the same time, output in the electronics industry dropped 2.2 percent.
On an annual basis, industrial production expanded a price and seasonally adjusted 3.0 percent in August.
In the June to August period, total industrial production remained flat compared with the previous three-month period.
