Denmark retail sales grew for a third straight month in November to reach the highest level in more than four-and-a-half years, figures from Statistics Denmark showed Tuesday.
Retail sales rose 0.2 percent from October, when they grew 0.5 percent. September’s sales growth was revised up to 0.2 percent from 0.1 percent, while sales stagnated in August.
The latest increase was driven by a 0.6 percent gain in sales of other consumer goods and a 0.5 percent growth in clothing sales. Meanwhile, sales of food and other daily goods dropped 0.3 percent.
Year-on-year, retail sales grew 1.1 percent in November following a 2.5 percent rise in the previous month.
In November, internet sales accounted for 6.1 percent of total revenue for Danish retail enterprises versus 5 percent in the same month last year.
In the first 11 months of the year, sale of groceries led the sales via the internet or mail order.
