Denmark retail sales increased for the first time in three months in June largely due to a rise in clothing sales, Statistics Denmark said Wednesday.

Retail sales rose 0.6 percent month-on-month in June, partially offsetting a revised 1.3 percent decline in May. In April, sales had fallen 0.5 percent.

Clothing sales grew 6.4 percent following May’s 7.2 percent drop, while food sales slid 0.2 percent in June, slower than May’s 0.4 percent decline.

On a yearly basis, retail sales increased 1.5 percent in June following a 3.8 percent decrease in the preceding month. In April, sales had risen 0.6 percent.
