The U.S. weekly jobless claims for the week ended September 12, housing starts and building permits for August have been released at 8:30 am ET Thursday. Following these reports, the greenback showed mixed trading against its key counterparts. While the greenback changed little against the euro, it rose against the franc, yen and the pound.
The greenback was quoted at 1.5518 against the pound, 0.9676 against the franc, 120.94 against the yen and 1.1324 against the euro around 8:35 am ET.
