The U.S. consumer confidence index for March is set to be published at 10:00 am ET Tuesday. The greenback held steady against its major opponents ahead of the data.
The greenback was worth 1.0739 against the euro, 0.9729 against the franc, 1.4793 against the pound and 119.97 against the yen as of 9:55 am ET.
