The Commerce Department releases third estimate of U.S. fourth quarter GDP data at 8:30 am ET Friday. Economists expect the economy to grow by 1 percent, in line with its earlier estimate.

Ahead of the data, the U.S. dollar held steady against its major rivals.

As of 8:25 am ET, the U.S. dollar was trading at 1.1167 against the euro, 1.4141 against the pound, 0.9766 against the Swiss franc and 113.01 against the yen.
