The University of Michigan is due to release preliminary consumer sentiment index for July at 10:00 am ET Friday. Ahead of the data, the greenback showed mixed trading against its major rivals. While the greenback held steady against the yen, it advanced against the rest of major rivals.
The greenback was worth 1.0854 against the euro, 124.05 against the yen, 0.9604 against the franc and 1.5562 against the pound as of 9:55 am ET.
