Donald Trump “Channels” FDR with New Deal Approach

Donald Trump is set on fixing the USA’s crumbling infrastructure “channeling” FDR’s New Deal.

Donald Trump’s plan to repair the United States’ aging/crumbling  infrastructure, which includes roads, bridges, tunnels, and the power grid could end up moving him a bit to the left, because of the massive amount of government spending such a plan would entail.

“Maybe my greatest strength is the economy, jobs, and building,” Donald Trump said on TV Thursday. “We do have to rebuild our infrastructure.”

Mr. Trump addressed the issue in his latest book, “Crippled America: How to Make America Great Again.”

“Fixing our infrastructure will be one of the biggest projects this country has ever undertaken. There isn’t going to be a second chance to get it right,” Trump wrote in his book, according to an excerpt published by ABC News last fall. “Let me ask you, if your own house was falling down and you had to hire someone to fix it before it completely collapsed, who would you hire? A guy who tells you what he’s planning to do, or a guy who has proven what he can do countless times before?

“In America, our house is falling down. Numerous times I’ve developed project after project. I raise the money, solve endless problems, bring in the right people, and get it done. Those are four words politicians can’t use: I get it done.”

Donald Trump admits the project would come with a price tag in the trillions of dollars, adding that it would create 13-M jobs.

“If we do what we have to do correctly, we can create the biggest economic boom in this country since the New Deal when our vast infrastructure was first put into place. It’s a no-brainer,” he writesin his book.

US President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal consisted of a series of programs that stimulated job growth in post-Depression America.

Mr. Trump’s promise to spent at least $1-T of government money on an construction project  could be spun as something a Democrat would say and never do. Expect Donald Trump to work to get it done.

The Big Q: How does he get the “doled” Americans to go back to doing hard, dirty work?
