Donald Trump Holds Front-Runner Status In Iowa, New Hampshire And Nationally
Donald Trump is the front-runner ahead in the early Republican nominating contests of Iowa and New Hampshire, according to NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls released Sunday.
In New Hampshire, Mr. Trump holds a 5-point lead over Carly Fiorina among GOP primary voters, 21% to 16%, followed by Jeb Bush in third at 11%, and Marco Rubio and Ben Carson tied at 10% each.
And in Iowa, Mr. Trump bests Dr. Carson by 5 points, 24% to 19%, with Ms. Fiorina in 3rd at 8%, Jeb Bush at 7%, and Ted Cruz, Rubio and Bobby Jindal tying at 6%.
In addition, Donald Trump still maintains a strong lead in the national GOP polls.
In the latest Pew Research Center poll of possible Republican primary voters:
1. Donald Trump: 25%
2. Dr. Ben Carson: 16%
3. Carly Fiorina: 8%
4. Marco Rubio: 8%
5. Ted Cruz: 6%
6. Jeb Bush: 4%
The Club for Growth’s campaign to portray Donald Trump as the “worst Republican” among all of the GOP presidential contenders because he is too liberal on many issues has sparked a fierce War of Words between them.
Donald Trump has called the Washington-based group “Phony” and threatened to sue, charging the ads spread “inaccurate information.”
He claims it had threatened to run the negative ads against him after asking for a $1-M donation last Summer.
