Donald Trump, “I do not think America is a safe place for Americans now”
Sunday, Donald Trump said that he does not think Europe is a safe place to visit these days, but then again, he said he is not so sure about the United States being safe, either.
“I do not think America is a safe place for Americans right now,” he said on ABC News’ “Good Morning America” program.
“I do not think Europe is a safe place, no, I do not. I think there are a lot of problems in Europe that are very, very severe. Weak.”
But then again, much of the free world “has become weak,” the GOP presidential front-runner said. “When you look at Brussels, when you look at the way they handled things from law enforcement standpoints. You look at Paris. So many other places.”
The United States is also not safe “because we’re allowing thousands of people to come in here,” Donald Trump said. “Nobody knows where they are from. Who they are. They’re coming in by the thousands. Let me tell you something, we are going to have problems, just as big or bigger than they’ve got.”
Donald Trump said that the nation needs to be “very vigilant, very smart” when it comes to the nation’s Muslims and firmly rejected rumors and a question about the idea of building internment camps.
Donald Trump defended his call to pull back on NATO, calling it “obsolete and extremely expensive for the United States.”
“It has to be readjusted to take care of terrorism or we have to set up a new coalition, a new group of countries to handle terrorism, because terrorism is out of control,” he said.
He also defended his use of Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) to send out messages, calling it a “new way of communicating” that is very effective, but he will not use it much if he is elected President.
“I will act in the best interests of our country. I will act to protect our country, whether that is counter punching or not,” he said.
