Donald Trump To Campaign Manager Roger Stone, “You’re Fired”

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump late Friday fired campaign manager Roger Stone over concerns about Mr. Stone’s loyalty to Mr. Trump’s run for the nomination.

“We have a tremendously successful campaign, and Roger Stone wanted to use the campaign for his own personal publicity.

“He has had a number of articles about him recently, and Mr. Trump wants to the focus of the campaign on how to ‘Make America Great Again,’ ” the Turmp spokesperson said.

Donald Trump told a reporter he fired Stone. The news hit Twitter just after Mr. Stone told a Fox News TV show that he could not appear Saturday because he no longer worked for the Trump campaign.

Mr. Stone sent Mr. Trump a note in which he expressed gratitude concerning their longtime relationship.

“I was proud to have played a role in the launch of your presidential campaign. Your message of ‘Make America Great Again’ harkened back to the Reagan era. Restoring national pride and bringing jobs back to America – your initial and still underlying message – is a solid conservative message. In fact, it catapulted you instantly into a commanding lead in the race,” Mr. Stone’s email said.

Donald Trump came under fire from his party after an accusation that Megyn Kelly, one of the moderators at Thursday’s Republican presidential debate, had singled him out with rough treatment.

Mr. Trump had called out the Fox News moderators for asking “unfair” questions after Ms. Kelly brought up his use of derogatory language towards women in Twitter posts.

The Fox News’ moderators, not the candidates, apparently got the orders from “big-time Republican donors” to take out Donald Trump during Thursday night’s GOP debate.

Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Friday, “We assumed that the orders went out to the candidates (to torpedo Trump). But the candidates did not make one move toward taking Donald Trump out. The broadcast network did; the candidates did not.”

On the day of the debate, Rush Limbaugh referenced an whisper hat claimed donors had contacted the candidates and put out an order to make Donald Trump look bad during the debate.

It was apparent that Fox News and its moderators got the order instead.

Despite the efforts taken by Fox News Thursday night, Donald Trump still tops the post-debate online polls, showing he was not taken out.

Trumpeting for Trump.
