Dutch producer confidence weakened in October to the lowest level in seven months, figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

The producer confidence fell to 2.4 in October from 3.8 in the previous month. In August, the reading was 3.5.

The latest score was the lowest since March this year, when it marked 1.4.

The decline of October’s index was mainly because entrepreneurs were less positive about their order books and stocks, the agency said.

The assessment of order book position worsened notably in October after strengthened in the prior month. The corresponding index dropped to 2.9 from 5.0. Similarly, the index measuring verdict of stocks decreased to 0.9 from 4.0.

Meanwhile, entrepreneurs were more positive about production in the coming three months, with the index rising to 3.4 in October from 2.4 in September.
