ECB may not grant increased ELA to Greek banks – ECB’s Nowotny

FXStreet (Mumbai) – The European Central Bank member Nowotny was on the wires stating that he cannot see an increase in Emergency Liquidity Assistance (ELA) for Greece being granted by the ECB.

Earlier today, Nowotny also said that bridge financing to Greece will happen only if there is a deal in sight. He also expressed disappointment over the fact that Greece turned up with no proposals at the EU summit on Tuesday.

On QE, Nowotny stated that the program has been successful in averting deflation.
