England/Wales house price growth accelerated in September to the highest level in six months, figures from Land Registry showed Wednesday.
House prices climbed 5.3 percent year-over-year in September, faster than August’s 21-month low of 4.3 percent hike. In July, prices had risen 4.5 percent.
The latest rate of increase was the quickest since March this year, when prices grew 5.5 percent
On a monthly basis, house prices went up 1.0 percent in September, following a 0.7 percent rise in the prior month.
The average house price in England and Wales totaled GBP 186,553.
In London, house prices logged a monthly increase of 1.8 percent. At 9.6 percent, the annual increase for London was higher than most other regions.
