Estonia’s industrial production decreased at a faster pace in September, figures from Statistics Estonia showed Friday.
Industrial Production fell a working-day-adjusted 4.1 percent year-over-year in September, which was worse than the 2.4 percent drop in August. It was the sixth successive monthly decline.
In September, the decrease in production volume was caused primarily by a fall in the manufacture of electronic products, chemicals, and machinery and equipment, the agency said.
Production in the energy sector plunged 6.9 percent annually in September and manufacturing output dipped by 3.9 percent. Mining index also registered a decrease of 2.3 percent.
On an unadjusted basis, industrial production contracted the same 4.1 percent in September from a year ago.
Monthly, industrial production slipped a seasonally adjusted 0.5 percent in September, in contrast to a 1.8 percent rise in the prior month.
