The euro extended rally against its major rivals in New York deals on Friday, amid reports that Greece is closer to reach deal with its EU partners at the Monday’s meeting.

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said he is optimistic for a deal with international creditors, saying the Eurogroup meeting next Monday could act as a platform to reach deal by resolving the current negotiations.

The euro rallied to more than a 2-month high of 1.1366 against the greenback, 2-1/2-month high of 135.61 against the yen and near a 3-month high of 0.7436 against the pound.

The euro may find resistance around 1.14 against the greenback, 140.00 against the yen and 0.75 against the pound.
