At 6.00 am ET Monday, Eurostat publishes industrial output figures. Economists forecast euro area production to grow 1.4 percent month-on-month in January reversing a 1 percent fall in December.

Ahead of the data, the euro traded mixed against its major rivals. While the euro rose against the franc, it declined against the rest of major rivals.

The euro was worth 1.1125 against the greenback, 126.38 against the yen, 1.0981 against the franc and 0.7740 against the pound as of 5:55 am ET.
