At 2:00 am ET Friday, Destatis releases Germany’s industrial production data. Economists forecast output to grow 0.5 percent on a monthly basis in September reversing a 1.2 percent fall in August.

The euro showed mixed trading against its major rivals ahead of the data. While the euro rose against the franc and the pound, it declined against the greenback. Against the yen, it held steady.

The euro was worth 1.0871 against the greenback, 132.51 against the yen, 1.0833 against the franc and 0.7156 against the pound as of 1:55 am ET.
