Eurozone construction output declined for the first time in three months in February, Eurostat reported Monday.
Construction output fell 1.8 percent in February from January, when it grew 1.6 percent. This was the first fall in three months and the biggest drop since September.
Within construction, building output dropped 1.6 percent, partially offsetting the 1.9 percent increase in January. Likewise, civil engineering declined 2.6 percent after rising 0.7 percent in January.
Year-on-year, construction output declined 3.7 percent, reversing a 0.6 percent rise in January.
In the EU28, construction output dropped 1.2 percent from January taking the annual fall to 2.4 percent.
