Eurozone investor confidence weakened more-than-expected to an eight-month low in October, survey figures from the think tank Sentix revealed Monday.
The investor sentiment index fell to 11.7 in October from 13.6 in September. This was the weakest reading since February 2015.
The current conditions index of the survey dropped to 13 in October from 15 a month ago. Similarly, the expectations index came in at 10.5, the lowest since December 2014, versus 12.3 in the previous month.
Likewise, investor sentiment for Germany deteriorated to the lowest since December 2014. The corresponding index declined to 17.8 in October from 20.6 in September.
Both current assessment and expectations weakened in Germany. The current conditions index slid to 35.1 from 37.9. It was the lowest since January 2015.
At the same time, the expectations index slid to 1.8, the lowest since November 2014, from 4.4 in September.
