F1: Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg Took The Chequered Flag At Brazil GP
Nico Rosberg drove to victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix Sunday.
“I am very happy and it went perfectly,” Mr. Rosberg said on the podium after the race.
“Lewis (Hamilton) put up a good challenge, but I was able to control it and I never gave him a chance so I am pleased with that,” he added.
Mr. Rosberg started on pole at the Interlagos track and held the lead all afternoon despite being pushed hard by Mr. Hamilton at times during the race.
Mr. Hamilton was just 2 secs behind with 20 laps to go, but could not catch team mate Rosberg into the finish.
Sunday’s result means Mr. Rosberg is now guaranteed to finish 2nd in the driver’s Championship.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel came 3rd ahead of teammate Kimi Raikkonen in 4th and Valtteri Bottas of Williams in 5th position.
Nico Hulkenberg of Force India took 6th, the Red Bull racer of Danii Kvyat finished 7th.
Felipe Massa, Romain Grosjean and Max Verstappen claimed the final points positions in 8th, 9th and 10th respectively.
The race was run in the usual competitive spirit, there was recognition shown the victims of Friday’s terror attacks in Paris.
The drivers wore Black armbands and toured the circuit displaying a French flag before the race.
Mr. Rosberg also took time out to pay tribute to the victims when on the podium Sunday.
“It was a great weekend for me here, of course everything is relative because of what happened in Paris,” he said.
The last F1 race of the season in Abu Dhabi in 2 weeks.

This includes special provisions for loading fueling and airplane parking as well as working with the airside operations security cargo and hospitality to accommodate the increase in traffic during the event.

Many of our staff members have volunteered to work over the weekend to ensure that we provide the best possible service and the warm Arabian hospitality that we are known for.
We would like to thank them and our partners from the police to customs and immigration and the airlines for their support in ensuring that race weekend runs as smoothly as possible.
Passengers travelling through Abu Dhabi International Airport over that weekend will enjoy special F1 related exhibits promotions and activities and travelers in transit will be able to watch the race live on big screens in Terminals 1 & 3.
Taking place on the 27th 28th and 29th November the F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the Middle East’s biggest international sporting event and the final race of the 2015 F1 season
