Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) “Mystery Car” Spotted on Fiorano Test Track

$RACE

The Big Q: Could this “mystery car” spotted at Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Fiorano test track be the next Special Projects creation?

The car looks to be platformed on the new 488GTB, but not sharing any body panels with the turbocharged mid-engine Supercar.

Even the shape of the cabin has been changed and now resembles the jet fighter-style cockpit made popular on the Nissan GT-R.

The unique elements and the fact the car is not camouflaged suggest it is a Special Projects creation. Only Ferrari’s most loyal customers are invited to participate in the creation of a Special Projects car, often referred to as SP Cars, the price tag for 1 usually starts around $4-M.

It’s been almost 2 years since we last saw an SP Car.

The last was the  F12TRS believed to have been commissioned by a British client. Other memorable SP cars include Eric Clapton’s SP12 EPC and the flip-folding-roof-equipped SuperAmerica 45.

Will update you Ferrari fans as soon as I have more details on this latest car. Meantime, you can view more photos of it over at enthusiast website Zero2Turbo.
